It is a role-playing online game that will help you understand better HATE SPEECH ONLINE. Become the player and take on the role of a community member who is confronted with various incidents /real life scenarios of online hate speech. This way you can learn to be more critical about the effects your reactions towards hate speech online can have on your community!
Hate-out! Game has been developed as part of the LEAD-Online project, which addresses the need to strengthen critical thinking and digital & media literacy skills in young people. The game is available in 7 European countries and their language (AT, BG, CY, HR, IT, EL, RO).

Also, the Right To Be has officially launched a new eLearning program: Bystander Intervention: How to be an Ally When You Witness Online Abuse for Journalism Students. This accessible eLearning program prepares students to navigate and defuse instances of online harassment through proven bystander intervention strategies. To enroll, please fill out this form. Read the paper by Solidarity with Others on Hate Speech of The Erdogan Regime: "Fetö(!)" here. It is the result of a need to analyse the discourse which has been adopted by the Turkish Government as part of a witch hunt it has been waging against the Gülen Movement. The term "Fetö" has been widely used as a form of hate speech to target members of the Gülen Movement and individuals associated with them. This expression has been used to symbolize and denigrate members of the Gülen Movement, portraying them as enemies of the state or terrorists without providing evidence or due process. Have a look at: "Fashion against fascism". It is an initiative from Laut gegen Nazis e.V. and the brands / shops Zalando, Spread Group, ABOUT YOU, Avocadostore, BAUR, bevh, bonprix, Fast Forward, Underpressure and Vinted.
Together they built an online database of far right codes, designed to help all companies ensure and check that Nazi codes are not unknowingly sold via their shops. Their list (nearly 200 codes etc) can be downloaded as CSV.
Dokustelle
Here is Dokustelle’s latest Annual Report on Anti-Muslim Hate (in German). In 2023, Dokustelle recorded 1522 cases of racist attacks against Muslims and people perceived as Muslim in Austria.
This year's report focuses on the educational sector, specifically examining schools and educational institutions. This comprehensive report provides an in-depth analysis of the current situation, documenting incidents and highlighting the underlying societal and political dynamics that contribute to this form of discrimination and hostility.
It is a crucial part of their efforts to raise awareness about anti-Muslim racism and promote effective measures to address this issue.
Global Project Against Hate and Extremism

Academy of Political Studies
APS’s monitoring report hate speech and other content related to the violent extremism in the online space in Albania was published. The monitoring done for the report integrates the human analysis of the “Trusted Flaggers Network” together with the potential of search engines to identify and analyze keywords related to violent extremism and hate speech.
Some of the monitoring findings:
• Monitoring of the main social networks shows an increase of up to 800% in messages using hate speech directly against the Jewish people as revenge for the massacres of civilian victims in Gaza. The vocal display of these anti-Semitic sentiments contradicts the Albanian tradition of religious coexistence and tolerance and requires a multifaceted social treatment, beyond proper monitoring by law enforcement agencies.
• In addition to religious extremism, another disturbing phenomenon on the rise is the misuse of online space to attack and denigrate minors and women. Monitoring confirms that TikTok is the social network where children and young people are most exposed to unwanted phenomena such as violence, hate speech, pornography, and extremism.
• Another growing concern in the online space is sexist behavior. This behavior reflects wider social issues and is characterized by various forms of discrimination and objectification, especially towards women. Such an approach contributes to a culture that may discourage women from seeing their gender as suitable for involvement in politics and other spheres of public life.

ACHIEVEMENTS: 5,000+ Program participants; 100,000+ antisemitic posts reported; 150+ workshops & educational programs in 5+ languages; 40% Average post removal rate on leading social networks in 2023.
REMOVE ANTISEMITIC CONTENT: Removing posts, deactivating profiles and groups, and banning accounts that violate social media guidelines.
MONITOR TERROR GROUPS: Daily monitoring of dozens of terror groups on Whatsapp and Telegram.
CHANGE SOCIAL NETWORK POLICIES + RESTORE ACCOUNTS:
• Succeeded in getting Meta to change its hate speech policy to add “Zionist” as a racial slur.
• Trusted Flagger for the leading social networks.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING:
• Training workshops and online activist boot camps.
• FOA has trained the highest number of activists in Israel to monitor and report antisemitic content on social networks.
• Partnered with 12 universities and 50 high schools in Israel.
• 7,000 volunteer hours logged.
• 5,000 program participants across the USA, Canada, Israel, UK Germany, Brazil, and Switzerland.
DEVELOPING AI SYSTEM: Collects and categorizes antisemitic content on social networks using targeted keywords and hashtags in multiple languages.
FUTURE GOALS FOR 2025:
• Enhance and further develop the AI system in order to monitor and report at least 300,000 antisemitic items a year.
• Achieve an average post removal rate of 50% on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube and TikTok
• Recruit 2,500 students and young adult volunteers.
• Expand international collaboration with NGOs, Jewish communities, and like-minded organizations.
• Conduct training workshops and online activist boot camps for both short and long-term engagement.
